President's Message BC Chevelle Club

President Ron's Farewell message November 25th, 2011

On Sunday November 20th, 2011 we held elections for the BC Chevelle Club. A new slate of officers was elected, which means that after 6 fun filled years as your President, it is time for me to go back to being a member only. I would like to thank all of you for your support and look forward to seeing each of you at the many Show N Shines, picnics and cruises we have planned for 2012. Over the years, I have seen members come and go for various reasons, but overall the club has remained a fun club to belong to. The new slate of officers has told me no changes ahead, just more fun times.

In closing, I would like to leave you with the following thoughts which were published by the President of the largest RV Club in North America.

The Value of Members

"Ten little members standing in a line; one dislikes the President, and then there were nine. Nine ambitious members offered to work late; one forgot his promise and then there were eight. Eight members with good deeds of heaven; one lost his enthusiasm, and then there were seven. Seven loyal members got into a fix; they quarrelled over programs, then there were six. Six members very much alive; one moved away, and then there were five. Five steadfast members wished there were more; one became indifferent and then there were four. Four cheerful members who never disagreed until one complained of meetings, and then there were three. Three eager members! What will they do? One got discouraged and then there were two. Two lonely members, our group is nearly done; one joined another group and then there was one. One faithful member was feeling rather blue, met a new neighbour and then there were two. Two earnest members each enrolled one more; four determined members just could not wait until each found another and there were eight. Eight excited member signed up eight more" The moral is we all joined this club to share car information, show off our rides and most of all to have fun.

Please remember that the soul and spirit of the club lies within each of you. Don't rely on the executive to do it all, jump in and help.

Happy Crusin'. See you in spring of 2012.
