President Ron's message 7-4-10
Well here we are well into July which means that a good portion of the Show N Shine / Cruse season is now behind us for 2010. Unfortunately the weather has not co-operated as in years past. However the forecast for the next two weeks is awesome.
In mid June Terri and I along with the Toops and Zappone's attended the El Camino Classic Show in Snohomish. Once again the weather was off and on for the weekend. For the people who know me I don't take my El Camino out in the rain, so on Friday June 11th I had too make a major decision. Do we tackle the border crossing early in the rain driving the El Camino or do wait until the afternoon when the line ups are much longer. The early border crossing won out and we drove in the rain for the first time ever! Boy am I glad we fixed the wiper motor problem back in May. The problem we don't take it out in the rain is not the leakage from the rain as there is none; it's the amount of time it takes to clean up the car when you arrive at your destination after driving in the rain for an hour or more. However the folks at the Holiday Inn in Everett could not have been nicer, they even set up a location outside with a hose to wash our vehicles.
As we all well know from experience the success of the Show N Shine / Cruse season is so weather dependent. Several examples of this are; Picnic in the Park out in Mission had 2400 vehicles while the Hope Show only had 151 vehicles. So if it's a nice day and there's a car show or cruise in happening jump in your vehicle and show it off like it should be done. Don't forget the GM Motorama Show N Shine on August 29th, 2010. This is one we co-host with the Cadillac Club of BC. Also for those of you on the BCCC e-mail list there are many shows coming up that we will be attending so come out and join us.
